Spreading the Gospel to the World

Ternopil, Ukraine
Planted by Stephan Bilak in 1991 after years of broadcasting the gospel through the Iron Curtain, this vibrant church in Ternopil is now helping with other church planting ministries in Ukraine. Various members of the Troy Church have traveled to Ternopil to help with Bible education, family camps and the annual VBS which attracts children from all over the city. One of our members, Patrick Oja, was sent out by Troy in 1999 for full-time work there. He returned in 2003 with a wife, Nadya. They now have 2 children and continue to be active in the support of the work. Visit the Ternopil Church website for more information about the continuing impact that this church has in their community and in other parts of Ukraine.

Guatemala
We have been involved in the mission work of Marty and Diane Quigley in Guatemala since it began in 1981. Their efforts there are wide and varied. They are involved in distributing Bibles in the native languages in both written and audio format. In their contact with local people they have identified and met a number of benevolent needs, particularly widows, orphans and disabled people. Their main focus is education. Marty is teaching local part-time rural pastors who are sincere and dedicated, but have very limited reading skills and consequently little knowledge of the Bible. Diane is helping the local Christian school by serving on the board and assisting in teaching English, along with home schooling their two children, Joe and Miriam.

Italy
Harold and Enid Fowler have been in Italy for forty years. One of their main objectives is building up the local churches, particularly the one in their hometown of Matelica. A major objective is translating Bible resource materials into the Italian language and distributing them among the church leaders. These materials, which are so readily accessible to us, are not available in the Italian bookstores. The Fowlers are also actively working to promote unity and cooperation among churches in both the instrumental and a capella fellowships of the Churches of Christ.

Marquette, MI
Jeremy and Donna Young work with the church in Marquette, Michigan. Marquette is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and has a population of 38,000. It is the home of Northern Michigan University which has an enrollment of 9,700 students, most of whom have no knowledge of their Creator. Jeremy and Donna work with the students at NMU ministering to them, building relationships with them, and leading them to a personal relationship with God. They also work with the youth group planning activities which get the youth involved with each other and the work of the church. Jeremy and Donna have been married for seventeen years and have three children, Justin (16), Chloe (14), and McKenna (7).
