Being A Cheerleader

Series Title:

Discovering The Power Of One Anothering

Words have incredible power. They can brighten the heart of the most discouraged soul or they have the power to destroy even the strongest resolve. Perhaps this is why in scripture we’re challenged to be one another's cheerleader. And we do that best when we tap into and embrace what it means to:

Encourage one another daily. (Hebrews 3:13)
Comfort one another. (I Thessalonians 4:18)
Stimulate one another to love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)

In Hebrews 12:1 it tells us that a great cloud of witnesses surrounds us and because of their encouragement, we can lay aside everything that hinders or entangles us.

When I read that passage, I see the cheering section filled with all the men and women of faith who have gone before us. They are cheering us on to follow Jesus no matter what the cost. But here’s the problem that I think most of us have: we don't seem to hear them when we need them most. For that we need the voice of one another that will give us the courage to stay the course long enough to see God turn things around.

Join us as we look at these ways to become passionate cheerleaders of one another.
